A House Near The River In Riga (Part One)
It all started last year, during the late part of the summer when I met a young Lady from Riga (Latvia) by the name of Victoria. It being thanks to Facebook that she and I, first became acquainted with one another however it was not till we had been on each other's list of friends for about a month that we actually got a chance to chat. This due to neither of us having taken the time or been online at the same moment. It happened on a Sunday, after that Victoria and I started chatting first on Facebook than on Skype; where after having introduced ourselves to each other. She as clarinet player from Latvia enrolled in a school for professional musicians while I did so as a writer; who had written many a works about not only opera but classical music.
Truly charming was our conversation as we exchanged ideas on music, from Gershwin's "Rhapsody In Blue" which I pointed out for its clarinet introduction to the works of Beethoven which also included the instrument of Victoria's choice. A point in our chat however did arrive where I had a sensation which prompted me to ask this young lady, whom I knew to be 23 years my junior if she cared for older men. It being my question which at first surprised her, to not answer yet to meet my curiosity with some of her own which led her to ask my reasons for wanting to know if she liked men whose age surpassed her own. It was at that this point that I ventured to declare that I found her to be very attractive and was definitely looking forward to ours turning to the ways of romance to include sexuality yet in all this I was aware that she might not hold such sentiments for me and that I would understand if she did not. After all, I was not nor am I naïve enough to believe that just because my desires lean toward a woman, that this means hers have to do likewise on to me. Naturally, I also being aware that not all young ladies who are 18, as she was though she was just about to turn 19; are interested in being romantically linked to men whose age exceeds 40. My numbered years as a matter of fact, I would find out numbered just four short of her father's.
Victoria, than after considering what I had said, followed up on the topic by writing that age to her was not a factor which she considered and that she too was found of me. This leading to our conversation turning more to the subject of sexuality and what we would do when we met as we described in detail how desires would take over our acts when we would find ourselves in each other's physical presence. Naturally sex was not the only topic of our conversation, as we talked about my books and articles and above all music, since both of us were seriously involved with music in ways that made our knowledge surpass that of the average fan.
It in fact was after our first chat which lasted about 8 hours and on to the late hours of the evening, that ours turned to the ways of adoration which led to both of us embracing the other in our thoughts constantly as well as not being able to either find slumber at night nor appetite for our food. We in all sincerity had fallen in love or perhaps had what is commonly referred to as an "infatuation" yet regardless of what it was or what one would care to label it as; we simply felt that we had to be together and fulfill our longings for each other. These going beyond the lust which makes those like us wish to share their bodies in sexuality for all the hours that their energy will allow them to do so and in to that which prompts them to want to share a future together.
In all that concerned this however, I feel it is necessary to state that I had not forgotten to mention that I was already married and a had a daughter yet these factors did not diminish Victoria's interest in me and perhaps looking back; it might have even increased her desires for me. Victoria even seeing me in her dreams which on many a night included us in acts motivated by our lust and passion for the other.
As for Victoria, she was a very beautiful young girl with long natural light blonde hair, blue eyes, a nice small nose and big fluffy lips which made her face very lovely to gaze upon . Body wise, Victoria's height was the same as mine, both of us standing at 170 cm though in all truth, she was much more overweight when I finally met her than I thought she would be. She in fact being more portly than even the photographs she sent me suggested which also by no means portrayed a girl who could be considered "slim".
Naturally with Victoria and myself, being so captivated by not only each other but by the ways of mutual adulation; we took to chatting every day on Skype for hours on an end as well as sending each other countless SMSes. Victoria declaring to me many things about her life which included facts such as her father being a street musician in Germany along with many details about her private life which included her never having engaged in acts of sexuality that included copulating. This being a fact which to me was of little if any consequence yet I did take it in to consideration for her sake; so that our first encounter of such a nature would be more pleasant.
With our mutual sentiments being what they were, it did not take me long to decide to travel to Riga with intensions of living with her for awhile and seeing what would be of what had already become our relationship. Victoria, naturally at the time wishing to see me as much as I did her, so that our actions might equal the ones we had already been chatting about for over a month. As for Victoria, she at the time lived in a house with her parents, who in fact spent a great deal of time in Germany; where her father worked. This creating a situation where Victoria was left on her lonesome in her parents' house with her grandfather, who in fact was her mother's mother.
It was with the intensions of traveling to the one who had become my beloved young lady, whom I had taken to calling "silly girl" that I bought myself a bus ticket which would take me from Warsaw, Poland to Riga, Latvia. It being on a journey which would include passing through both Estonia and Lithuania. For my part however I must confess that before meeting Victoria, I knew very little about Latvia other than that it was a country which had been swallowed up by the Soviet Union back in 1940 only to gain its independence in 1990 which was also, strangely enough; the year in which Victoria was born in.
As for the trip itself, it was on a comfortable bus that I made the journey which lasted only twelve hours. Naturally, all the time with the enthusiasm that I was finally going to meet the young lady who had captivated me on the internet to such an extent that I had decided to move to Riga or at least for a time sufficient as to form a relationship. I even recall having all sorts of thoughts while on my way to Riga which included what if the bus were to crash and I were to be rushed to the hospital where my lady friend, Victoria would come see me just before I passed away. It perhaps was my anxiety to meet Victoria that caused my mind to wonder in to such places that included morbid thoughts yet there was something utterly exciting about being on that particular bus which would take me to Riga and to the one, whom I was sure was as willing to see me as I was to see her.
My bus however was late in arriving to the central bus station in Riga which created some confusion between Victoria and myself yet this did not result in a problem, as we managed to recognize each other from the photos we had sent one another just as I was about to call her to meet me in front of the newsstand where she in fact was walking by. I must confess that the sight of her was welcome yet her being overweight even much more than I had expected did cause certain disappointment in me yet not enough to dissuade me of the whole idea of the romance.
At first, as can be expected there was that moment of apprehension, as in all reality we were meeting for the first time; this in spite of us already knowing many facts about the other's life yet it is another to meet somebody in person than merely hear about that person. Victoria and I did not waste time however in trying to establish the same warm relationship we had had on the internet in what was now what could be called our "live connection". This as opposed to the virtual one we had had up and till that point.
Once Victoria and I had seen each other and were sure that we had not encountered a person other than the one we were expecting, we went to her house; where her grandmother said my presence would not be unwelcome. It perhaps was at that moment where my relationship with Victoria truly started, as we took a bus to her house which in fact was not so far from downtown Riga. Once however having reached our stop, we had to go by car. This in spite of the house not being so far from the bus stop where we had just gotten off and it was through a very dark road that Victoria drove her car so that we might get to her place. For my part, a certain sense of worry started to set in as it was not so much that the road was lacking in lights as the fact that the place where I found myself with Victoria was truly desolate; reminding me of a hide out for gangsters or where Bruce Wayne kept the Bat Cave.
All of which reminding me of a package, I had sent Victoria and her telling me she had to go to the post office to get it because mailmen did not deliver to her house due to hers being the only domicile in the area. It being then that I knew what she meant when she said she had "no neighbors" yet this gave me a feeling of slight fright which I tried not to display. As in all reality, I was with a person whom technically speaking, I had just met, in a place where I could imagine would be so easy to simply kill somebody and there would not be a living soul to hear either screaming or crying for help.
It was during this short drive that my comment made Victoria laugh, as I declared that I hoped she loved me as much as she had stated on the internet and in our conversations or else I would be very scared; given the tremendous sensation of solitude which I got from this place. It in fact did not take us long to get to her house, as it had been but a three minute drive yet it did seem much longer at the time.
As for the house, it would be hard to say that I saw any of the outside. This due to it already being dark and the lack of lights they had yet the inside seemed large though strangely shaped. Victoria's house or her parents' house as she often refers to it, took on the shape of a "U" with the part in the middle being the area where the shower and kitchen were to be found with the stove being near the entrance which was definitely very cold; due to an almost total lack of insulation.
