Yamaha P95 Digital Piano Review
Where do you begin in chosing a digital piano from vast array of choices on the market at the moment. There are many substandard musical instruments out there in the market, especially digital pianos. In fact, digital pianos for example are hardly considered to be musical instruments by the experts because they can just sound too 'digital'.
With the full sized 88 key digital piano, Yamaha's new P95 storms the market with some great features for a very reasonable price. The unit comes with full sized keys which are weighted. Like a acoustic piano, weight keys mean that the higher notes have a lighter feel to that of the bass notes which are slightly harder to press.
The sound from the Yamaha P95 is really decent, thanks to the Advanced Wave Memory. AWM is a technology that will replicate with great accuracy, acoustic piano like sound when playing the P95.
There is a choice of ten different voice sounds that the player can select from. A neat addition is the ability to select two instrument sounds at the same time, say strings and grand piano for example. This simply requires the two buttons to be pressed at the same time on the voice selection panel.
This Yamaha unit comes with a sustain pedal, the ability to plug in up to two headphones and a MIDI plug to transfer music to your PC. A song recorder and inbuilt metronome come standard with the P95.
A stereo 6W speaker system is enclosed on the bottom of the P95 to produce some decent sound. If you want it to get loud, you can also connect it to the external speakers or an amplifier.
To entertain yourself or your friends and family, 50 songs are already built into the unit for playback. Even Chopin and Beethoven make an appearance! To help with practice sessions, the unit allows you to store up to 11000 notes.

3. Sound of the Grand Piano: The P95 is very successful in its quality replication of a grand piano voice. The sound is really great, and in line with high end digitals like the Korg N-one.
4. Preset Songs: The quality of the 50 playable inbuilt songs that come with the P95 continue to impress people.
